For Employers
The recruitment of International Medical Graduates has always presented employers with the costly, time consuming and lengthy process of applications for assessment, registration and work visas, and continues to be complicated and evolving.

Wulff Medical Consulting provides employers with dedicated administrative support at a fraction of the cost usually associated with these processes:
  • We assess each candidate individually, and present the employer with an outline of the processes ahead.
  • We communicate and advise of progress and potential delays.
  • We apply our substantial working knowledge by taking a holistic approach to each case.
  • We won't mislead you and make fanciful promises.
  • We will work with you and for you to provide the best possible service we can.

Our services include:
  • Initial vetting of applicant’s curriculum vitae
  • Phone interview and assessment for eligibility for registration, employment and visa
  • Marketing to and liaising with the health service for suitability for appointment
  • Reference checking
  • Management of any and all applications associated with the employment of IMGs

And we’re flexible - if you have another service you would like help with, let us know. Chances are we have done it before.

You only pay for the work provided, that s you select and pay only for those services you require. For your IMGs who require assistance with the renewal of registration - a discount applies if the applicant was initially recruited by us and also for continued annual renewals.

Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork
When a position becomes vacant in your facility, and from past experience you have an idea that it will be difficult to engage an Australia/New Zealand trained applicant, consider if the position can qualify as 'in urgent need of a medical practitioner', or in other words, is an Area of Need (AON).

In this situation, make sure you retain copies of all advertising and written or verifiable communication with relevant stakeholders (Royal Colleges, employment agencies, government bodies etc). This is because an application for AON endorsement of a position requires evidence that a genuine vacancy exists, that the provision of medical services would fall below an acceptable level if the vacancy was not filled, and that labour market testing has been undertaken.

In this way, if the best possible candidate for your vacancy is ultimately an international medical graduate (IMG), you will be prepared to submit an application for AON if necessary. If the position requires your IMG to provide services that will attract Medicare benefits, you will also need to apply for the position to be recognised as a District of Workforce Shortage (DWS) position.
Save time and reduce stress - Wulff Medical Consulting can manage these applications for you, whether you have engaged the IMG yourself or the IMG was referred to you by us
As you probably know, DWS and AON are just the first of many applications required in the employment of an IMG. Each organisation involved has its own standards, policies and procedures for the submission of complete and satisfactory applications. And the processes are dynamic and evolving - it requires dedicated vigilance to keep up with all the changes.

We appreciate that most of you in Hospital Administration wear many hats, and there are only so many hours in the week that you can devote to the processes for IMG applications. Work smarter, not harder – outsource the management of your IMGs applications to Wulff Medical Consulting.
