Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork

When a position becomes vacant in your facility, and from past experience you have an idea that it will be difficult to engage an Australia/New Zealand trained applicant, consider if the position can qualify as 'in urgent need of a medical practitioner', or in other words, is an Area of Need (AON).

If this will be the case, make sure you retain copies of all advertising and written or verifiable communication with relevant stakeholders (Royal Colleges, employment agencies, government bodies etc). This evidence will be required for an application for AON endorsement of a position to verify that a genuine vacancy exists, that the provision of medical services would fall below an acceptable level if the vacancy was not filled, and that labour market testing has been undertaken.

In this way, if the best possible candidate for your vacancy is ultimately an international medical graduate (IMG), you will be prepared to submit an application for AON if necessary.

Save time and reduce stress - Wulff Medical Consulting can manage these applications for you, whether you have engaged the IMG yourself or the IMG was referred to you

We appreciate that most of you in Hospital Administration wear many hats, and there are only so many hours in the week that you can devote to the processes required for IMG applications. Work smarter, not harder - outsource the management of your IMG applications to Wulff Medical Consulting.
